Description
SCSA is offering online briefings on the Kindergarten and Pre primary and the Years 1 and 2 statements. These statements form part of the mandated Guiding Principles in the WA Curriculum and Assessment Outline (the Outline). The Kindergarten and Pre primary Statement and the Years 1 and 2 Statement set out the expectations for high-quality, child centred early childhood education in Western Australia that build on each child's funds of knowledge to foster learning, development and wellbeing.
Outcome
The statements support both the Outline and the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
The Statements support school leaders and educators to identify and explain early childhood in Years 1 and 2 contexts. They provide knowledge of pedagogy in the early years to support high-quality delivery of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.
