The School Curriculum and Standards Authority is offering briefings on the updated Kindergarten and Pre-primary and the new Years 1 and 2 Statements.
The updated Kindergarten and Pre-primary Statement and the new Years 1 and 2 Statement set out the expectations for high-quality, child-centred early childhood education in Western Australia that build on each child's funds of knowledge to foster learning, development and wellbeing.
Outcome
The Statements support school leaders and educators to identify and explain early childhood in Kindergarten and Pre-primary and Years 1 and 2 contexts. They provide knowledge of pedagogy in the early years to support high-quality delivery of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline.
